CEH Approved!

Today, our director, Dennis Law completed an incredible task. He can now officially be called a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). Congratulations are in order as this is no easy exam to negotiate.

Dennis is now embarking on the next leg of his journey by prepping for the ECSA (EC-Council's Certified Security Analyst) certification via iClass.  After successfully passing the associated exam, Dennis will be able to apply for the LPT (Licensed Penetration Tester) license. This is a government recognized license, and highly desired in the information security arena. We wish him well, and continued success as he pursues yet another Information Security Certification.

The ISA Partners With AVTech

Lancaster, CA

The Information Security Agency has partnered with the Antelope Valley Institute of Technology.  This partnership will usher in a new era of education for the Antelope Valley.

The ISA has teamed up with AVTech to present courses of instruction in information technology including: Intro To Computers, CompTia A+, Network+, Security+, and (begining 2012) Certified Ethical Hacker, EC-Council's Certified Security Analyst/Licensed Penetration tester certifications.

The Antelope Valley Institute of Technology is a 'one-stop-shop' for all of your IT needs. The school provides instruction from CompTia, Microsoft, Cisco, and Security. Their list of other  services is long and includes PC Repair, IT Consulting, and Robotics for the children.  Besides being a premier learning center, AVTech is also an authorized Prometric Testing Site.  So, after completing training, students can take their certification exams on-site

It looks like this partnership will undoubtedly score an 'A+' as time goes on.  We will chart the progress of this dynamic duo as time and events occur.

ECSA Approved!

Today, our director, Dennis Law overcame another hurdle in his quest for 'supreme
certification'.
Dennis took and passed the EC-Council's Certified
Security Analyst (ECSA) exam. This is an advanced level hacker certification that
compliments the CEH that Dennis achieved last year around this time.  Congratulations are in order as this is again, "no easy exam to negotiate".

Dennis is already deeply involved in the next leg of his journey by collecting references, getting background checks, copying his current certs, and writing 'what would you do' essays in preparation for applying for the LPT (Licensed Penetration Tester) license.

In the process of studying for the ECSA, Dennis got the notion that he wants to start his own Information Security (only) school. So, aside from preparing paperwork for the
LPT, Dennis has started looking for investment capital and Cyber Security grants that are in line with the Presidential Cyber Security Initiative.  He says "Since the country is so very undereducated when it comes to information security, why not rise to meet that need? 'Necessity IS the mother of invention'.  We have no doubt that this idea will come into fruition, just as many of Dennis' other accomplishments have.  Well, the saying holds true... Thoughts Become Things!

As in the past, we wish him well in his future endeavors

LPT Approved!

Well, as we expected... Dennis Law has overcome the last hurdle in his quest for 'supreme certification'.

After extensive paperwork collection, exhuastive backgound checks (that rival government level background investigations), and numerous letters of recommendation; Dennis has finally been granted the designation of Licensed Penetration Tester by the EC-Council. (LPT Lic# ML12-451)

This was the ultimate goal that Dennis has been pursuing over the last two years, and this marks the achievement of a lifetime for him.

Don't mess with this man... he now holds a license to penetrate your networks that is recognized by the US government's American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and DOD 8570 directive.

ISA Director Takes On A Mentor

Los Angeles, CA - More exciting news from the Information Security Agency.

After much success with the Information Security Agency, the Director, Mr. Dennis Law has decided to broaden his horizons by requesting to be mentored by none other than the Chief Information Security Officer of Los Angeles County, Dr. Robert Pittman, CISM. Talk about swinging for the fences!

After meeting our director at the 2012 ISSA International Conference in Orange County, CA, Dr. Pittman agreed to the mentorship citing "Having you as a mentee is a no-brainer!"

After the mentorship commenced, Mr. Law stated “While I am fully aware that success is on the horizon, I am also aware that in order to get there I (myself and the ISA) must be humble and accept that seeking and receiving guidance is the only way to achieve the goals and successes we intend to achieve in the future. And they are quite lofty!” Not many people can say that their mentor is the CISO of the largest county in the United States, but Dennis Law can now.

Again, another bold step for this security conscious director, and surely one that will produce great fruit in the future. We look forward to what this mentorship will bring into fruition. The Information Security Agency is destined to be the next rising star in the InfoSec arena.
